that trend should continue as we go into the afternoon. we will start to see more clouds moving into the picture but we have another dry day on tap. if you are heading to bwi this is what you can expect. partly cloudy skies and temperatures at 49 degrees. yes take the jacket as you head out and about. we have dry air in place once again. and the winds are calm and that's good and we are not dealing with any type of foggy conditions out there. visibility is good and that sunrise is coming in at 7:25. and that sunset is getting earlier and earlier at 6:16 this evening. so as the kid head off towards the bus this morning, th is what you need to equip them w give them the jacket and it's going to be a -- with. give them the jacket it's going to be cool with the temperatures at 50 degrees will we will see sunshine. and it will be variably cloudy and into the afternoon, look at temperatures warming up. it's going to be a great day at recess for the kids. temperatures coming in at 76 degrees and warm temperatures and temperatures well above average and the temperatures will begin to get even warmer as we head into tomorrow. so again, the big story of the day and as we go through time

is going to be tropical storm sandy. and it's going down around jamaica in the caribbean and will track up towards the north. we have two scenarios. it could come inland or it could stay off the coast. but no matter what, we are going to be watching some coastal problems. more details on that and again i have two tracks i want to show you on this and the concerns that it could be bringing. let's check the traffic with lauren cook. >> reporter: good morning. 76 degrees today. >> yes. >> reporter: should be very nice. heading out to the beltway, there's nothing to get in are way in parkville. looking at a very typical 11- minute ride on the outer loop from 95 all the way up to 83. and as we head over to the west side of the beltway here's what it look ike at liberty road -- like at liberty road, you are looking at an 11-minute ride from 795 down towards 95 and as you can see everything up to speed on 95 traveling through the fort mchenry tunnel. looking at an 8-hadn't ride northbound from the -- 8-minute ride northbound from the beltway to the toll plaza.

55 in arnold. take the jacket as you go. some spots this morning are in the 40s. the upper 40s. 56 in glen elg and we are not dealing with winds. that dew point is nice and dry and that continues going into the afternoon. shady size's temperature is is at 49 degrees and the dew point is at 46 degrees. we look at maryland's most powerful radar and we can see that we are dry right now. and this is going to be the scenario. now showers are on the radar but mainly to the north of us back off towards the west. this will slide off toward the north and east so as we plan for the day this is what you can expect. as you wake up around 7, the temperatures at 50 degrees. and then by lunchtime today, that temperature coming in right around 63 and then 71 as we go through time. the high temperature today, though, will be right around 76 so we will be quite warm. let's check the amount bc2 timesaver traffic with lauren cook. >> reporter: good morning. keep the showers to the north and to the west because i want to enjoy the 76 degree weather.

if you are traveling in howard county there's nothing to get in are way on interstate 70. it is nice and clear from columbia pike all the way over to 695. and here's a live look at the beltway. northwest corner at old court road everything moving right along no delays heading down towards 95. and as we pull up drive times, notice the rest of the beltway is in great shape. typical 11 minute ride on the outer loop from 95 all the way up to 83. and for those of you using the jfx to get into the city, it's going to take you 11 minutes as well. traveling southbound from the beltway all the way to fayette street. that's a look at your traffic megan and charley over to you. a few minutes after 5. it was the last chance we had to see president obama and governor romney on the debate stage together. the topic last night foreign policy. and charley is at the live desk with a recap of the night. >> these two men were in close quarters sitting close to one another with the moderator bob she haver and president obama -- she haver and -- schieffer

and president obama took the offensive while also criticizing governor romney for being "all over the map when his -- with his proposed policies" the two were much more reserved in the 90-minute debate. many analyst thought the terrorist attack on libya was the obvious first question but governor romney passed on the answer instead of hitting the president or the administration's response for the attack that killed four americans. men talked about a host of issues ranging from iran china and the u.s.'s ally israel but when it came to the topic of expanding or contracting the mill tarity president had this to -- military, the president had this to say noting it was about the changing times. >> we have fewer horse and bayonets because the nature of our military changed. we have the things called aircraft carriers where planes land on them and we have ships that go unwater nuclear submarines and so the question is not a game of battle ship

ounce mondayter en-- mondayter energy drinks -- monster energy drinks are suing the company that made them. they say she died from caffeine toxicity. she what underlying mild cart condition it's something 10% of people have. energy drinks are not required to show the amount of caffeine in the drink. monster released a statement saying they don't believe their beverages were in way responsible for the death. they went onto say they intend to defend the lawsuit. anais' mother says things need to change. >> to get the fda to step up and regulate these and make the energy drink companies tell everything that are this these drinks. you can't tell how much caffeine is in there. >> reporter: now the fda now

says it is investigating reports of five deaths and a nonfatal heart attack linked to the drinks. monster stock lost more than 14% of the value after reports of the fda's investigation surfaced. sherrie johnson, abc2 news. they escaped with their lives but lost years of treasured family possessions. one house destroyed and three others need work after a massive fire in federal hill yesterday. we brought this to you as breaking news on good morning maryland yesterday. the fire department says the belongings piled up to 5 feet high in the home acted like kindling making the fire more difficult to put out. investigators were able to get into the home later in the afternoon and begin looking for a cause. the families are helped by the red cross. who's this man? a year ago he was found dead under the 695 bridge. this morning police still cannot id him. that is forensic sketch and an autopsy dna and fingerprints have yet to turn up a positive

id. if you recognize this man, call baltimore county police. 6 minutes after 5. the baltimore clippers hockey team were the first to use first mariner arena when they came out on the ice exactly. it was called the baltimore civic center at the time. the downtown landmark celebrates 50 years. the arena hosted the beatle, bruce springsteen and reverend martin luther king junior. that's to name a few. in the past year it was the 7th highest grossing arena of its size. this week it hosts performances like disney on ice. there's been talks of building a larger arena, the project looks unlikely before 2016. time for a check on the weather with meteorologist lynette charles. good morning. >> good morning. we are looking at the satellite and radar and we see a few clouds around the area this morning. we will see more clouds as we go into the afternoon but we will get some sunshine out there as well. will we get rain? let's broaden out the view.

we are used to seeing them on the football field on most sundays. >> a few ravens players put down the pigskin in exchange for a pool stick them the went to dave and busters and arundal mills to play pool but they were guys having a night out and having fun. they were competing in the shoot for the cure tournament raising money for the american breast cancer foundation. >> we raise funds for people who cannot afford mammograms and we grant it back to people. >> for my part here in the

and 55 degrees in chesapeake beach. so yes you need the jacket but it's not as cold as yesterday or chilly. at the surface, we are looking at high pressure once again. we will get that southwesterly flow in here as you get clockwise flow around high pressure. we look back off towards the north and west, and we have a cold front along the cold front we are seeing some disturbance that is will stay to the north of us for today. and also we will get cloud mixing in. now speaking of the cloud, speaking of some warmer weather, well, let's head to the tropics because we have tropical storm sandy and you can see it is blossoming trying to get its act together. hurricane hunter will fly through to get the latest statistics on the storm. right now it's sustained at 45 miles an hour. the wind. it's not moving but it's forecasted to strengthen as it moves northward today and heading towards jamaica and also towards cuba. here is one scenario. the first of this storm impacting us going into the end of the week and early next week, hurricane-force winds if it comes inland coastal

flooding inland snow because we will have a cold front moving out of the west to the east and that's where we will get the cold air from. storm number 2 or track number 2 we had this coming and staying away from us. and it will stay out, but still coastal concerns with this. but that dewill be the best scenario if that happens. we will keep you updated on that situation because we are days away. but for today, that hightemperature will come in right around 76 degrees. let's check the abc2 timesaver traffic with lauren cook good morning. >> reporter: good morning. if you are traveling in east baltimore right now, do be aware of the sink hole repairs that are underway blocking east monument street between wolf street and patterson park avenue. you will want to use or liens street instead. if you are using 95 here's a live look in white marsh at route 43. everything is moving along looking at 15-minute ride traveling southbound from 695 all the way downtown. and here's what the beltway looks like in towson at due leany valley road no concerns

he has been stripped of all titles and banned from the sport for life. not only is his reputation at stake so is his 125 million dollar net worth. he is facing a number of lawsuits including one from a company that wants 10 million dollars back for bonuses it paid to him for the wins. they twirl and flip and build human pyramids 15 feet tall. cheerleading no doubt about it is more than waving pom poms which is why doctors say they need to do more to improve the safety of the sport. the number of cheerleaders admitted to the er has climbed dramatically in the past two decades. and a new report out suggest that cheerleading should be labeled a support and -- sport and subbed to tougher safety rules including limits on practice time and better supervision. you probably heard of fantasy football. your draft of the favorite players. >> now a new group of high schoolers are taking this idea to a new low.
